How Systems Are Analyzed

When the systems are analyzed, the child objects that are in scope are analyzed to allow for determination of unique and similar systems.

If a particular system is in scope, then all of the child objects of the systems are determined.  If the system's Recurse flag is true, then each object in any folders or systems found will be included in that system.  Each object has a hash code that is calculated based on object name.  All of the hash codes of the child objects in a system are summed up to create a system hash sum.  Any systems with the same hash sum will have exactly the same objects.

If a system has Recurse = True and it comes across a sub-system or folder that is hidden, that system's objects won't be included in the system.

If a system is flagged Out Of Scope, the system is not analyzed.

Systems that have exactly the same objects are Template Systems.  All others are unique systems.  Both of these types of systems can be view in the reports and with the browser in the System Summary.
